2.1 IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS)

OPERATOR RECERTIFICATION

The purpose of this course is to assist the electronic manufacturer produce high quality products at the lowest possible cost by providing a greater understanding of the soldering and assembly processes through “standard” training.

This course is for students currently certified to J-STD-001.

COURSE STRUCTURE:

This course will re-certify operators to applicable J-STD modules. Module 1 is required for re-certification. Operators will review important aspects of each applicable module they were originally certified in.

Module 2 – Wires and Terminals – 4 hours

Module 3 – Through Hole Technology – 4 hours

Module 4 – Surface Mount Technology – 4 hours

Module 5 – Inspection – 4 hours

WHAT THE “LEARNER” RECEIVES:

• ANSI J-STD-001 Manual
• Applicable soldering kit(s)

Students will receive an IPC J-STD-001 “Operator Proficiency” certificate with an overall score of 70% or better, on classroom written exams and an overall score of 70% or better on soldering demonstrations.
